Known by his real name Thierry Guetta, Mr. Brainwash lives and works in San Francisco, where he has been testing and pushing the boundaries of contemporary art for more than a decade. In the process, he manages the balancing act of letting street art and pop art collide in an orchestrated way.

The acclaimed documentary film “Exit Through the Gift Shop”, for which Mr. Brainwash provided groundbreaking footage, can be seen as the first major turning point for the artist.
Nominated with the Academy Award, this film chronicles the evolution of the urban street art movement, showcasing Mr. Brainwash bringing art to the masses alongside other big names, such as Banksy, Invader and Shepard Fairey.

With his innovative and audacious style, Mr Brainwash has been shaking up the world of art. Drawing on elements from Pop Art’s yesteryear and the raw ingredients of his street art origins, he has created exhibitions and collaborations that have become larger than life. Expanding into gallery shows and art exhibitions around the world, Mr. Brainwash’s visionary designs have attracted the attention of critics and celebrities alike.

Having held solo exhibitions around the world and participating in Art Basel every year, the artist creates opportunities to excite the public about the world of art. To this end, Mr. Brainwash has travelled to various countries to give lectures and seminars, including speaking engagements at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), Columbia University, as well as Semi Permanent, Australia’s premier creative conference.
